ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey has recalled its ambassador toWashington for consultations following a decision by a U.S.House committee to brand Ottoman Turk killings of Armeniansgenocide, Turkish diplomats told Reuters on Thursday."We called back our ambassador to Washington forconsultations. It should not be understood that we have pulledhim back permanently. He will be in Ankara for consultations ina few days," a senior Turkish diplomat told Reuters.
Other Turkish diplomats confirmed the move.
The U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committeeapproved a resolution on Wednesday branding the killings in1915 genocide -- a charge Turkey denies.
