LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Comic and "Deal or No Deal" host Howie Mandel was released on Tuesday from a Toronto hospital where he had been taken for an irregular heartbeat, his spokesman said.
Mandel was in Toronto working on his NBC hidden-camera show "Howie Do It" when he was taken to St. Michael's Hospital.
He was hospitalized on Monday night with the irregular heartbeat, but has been released and will return to work on Wednesday, publicist Lewis Kay said.
Mandel, 53, was born in Toronto and started in show business as a comedian before starring on the 1980s TV medical drama "St. Elsewhere."
Since 2006, he has hosted the game show "Deal or No Deal" on NBC.
