BHUBANESWAR, India (Reuters) - Four steelworkers died after inhaling poisonous gas leaking from a plant run by Bhushan Steel Ltd in Orissa, a senior official in the state government and the firm said on Monday.At least two more workers were being treated in hospital after the gas leaked from the Bhushan Steel blast furnace late on Sunday, Pradipta Kumar Patnaik said.
"The leak has been contained and we have deployed additional forces in the plant to avoid trouble," Patnaik told Reuters.
A company spokesman, who could not be named, said an investigation into the gas leak and the deaths was underway.
Bhushan makes cold-rolled steel coils and sheets.
