BRUSSELS, Belgium - Diplomats say EU leaders will threaten Sudan with sanctions if it does not cooperate fully with the United Nations and the International Criminal Court in handing over officials wanted for war crimes in Darfur.A draft copy of a declaration obtained by The Associated Press to be issued at summit talks Friday says the 27 European leaders remain "deeply concerned" over Sudan's lack of cooperation with the court.
Diplomats say the leaders will call on their foreign ministers to consider freezing Sudanese assets and placing a travel ban on certain Sudanese officials if Khartoum fails to cooperate. The diplomats spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media.
