WATERFORD, Conn. – Connecticut officials say a deal has been sealed to bring taping of the "Deal or No Deal" syndicated daily game show to their state starting this summer.
Gov. M. Jodi Rell and Endemol USA say the production company and NBC Universal Domestic TV Distribution have signed a lease for space at the Studios of Sonalysts Inc. in Waterford.
Thursday's announcement comes about six weeks after NBC Universal announced plans to relocate several shows, including the bawdy Jerry Springer talk show, to Stamford.
NBC officials say Connecticut's tax credit for digital media and film production was a key factor in its decisions.
The prime-time version of "Deal of No Deal" was launched in 2005 and the syndicated version began this year. Both are currently taped in Culver City, Calif.
Howie Mandel will continue as the show's host.
